Why should I buy tickets and armbands in advance
Do I need to buy an armband in advance?
Here is a helpful guide to give you all the information about when to buy in advance.
Thu 29th / Tue 4th - BUY ON THE DAY
If you are planning on visiting the fair on Thursday the 29th or Tuesday the 4th you do NOT need to purchase in advance. On these two days the price to purchase ride all day armbands on the grounds is lower.
FRI 30th, WED 5th, THU 6th and FRI 7th - NO ARMBANDS AVAILABLE TO BUY ON THE DAY
If you are planning to come out to either Friday of the fair, you need to purchase your armbands in advance, because armbands will NOT be on sale inside the fair on the day.
SAT & SUN 1st/2nd and 8th/9th - LIMITED TIME ARMBANDS ON THE DAY
Armbands will be available for sale at limited times during the day, and will NOT be allowed to ride all day, each armband will only be valid until a certain time of day. They are also $25, buying an armband in advance makes sense because you can ride all day for only $20!
MON - NO INDIVIDUAL ARMBANDS - ONLY ARMBANDS FOR CARLOAD PASSENGERS
If you are not taking advantage of our excellent carload special, you will not be able to walk into the gates and purchase an armband. People in a carload get armbands that ride all day. If you are walking in, then you need to purchase one in advance.

Armbands are NOT available to purchase on every day of the fair
This is very important to know. When you purchase a ride-all-day armband, you can use it on any one day during the fair. You do not have to choose before you buy, you purchase the armband, and it is valid on any one day that you want! On some days during the fair you cannot purchase armbands for that day.
